Tips on staying hydrated

Our bodies are made up of approximately 60% water and staying sufficiently hydrated on a daily basis is important.
It is even more important to increase hydration before and after receiving a massage.

Hydration tips:
Before you leave the house, fill up a reusable water bottle or drink vessel to take with you. Always having that on hand for yourself makes a simple reminder to drink water. This also can provide you with a triple save; it's a healthy & accessible option for yourself saving you from reaching for convenience drinks such as pop or juice which can save you money and you're helping to save the environment by reducing your environmental footprint.
There are some easy ways to enhance the taste of water like adding a lemon or lime wedge, a few pieces of your favourite fruit -fresh or frozen- and herbs like mint or rosemary. My favourite combo is lemon, cucumber and raspberries!
One of the best investments as far as kitchen gadgets in our home has been a soda stream. This allows you to turn boring old tap water into sparking water within minutes right in the comfort of your home. To spice it up, you can do the same as above or there are sugarless additives you can buy to add to your soda water.
Another great drink option aside from water is herbal tea. It can be enjoyed hot on those cold winter days or cold in the heat of the summer! There are pretty limitless herbal tea flavours and combinations out there so whatever your own personal flavour pallet, you have options.
I will share the obvious that although coffee & other caffeinated drinks, pop, juice and alcohol are all made up of liquid they aren't necessarily the healthiest option as they each come with their own side effects. I'm not saying don't drink any of these but just remember, everything in moderation & if you do indulge, water helps you to keep a good balance.
